Aladdin comes to life with the magic of 3D!
Audiences are in for a very special treat this Christmas as they join pantomime favourites Allan Stewart and Grant Stott in a spectacular and unmissable production of Aladdin. And this year Allan, Grant and the rest of the cast will share the stage with a special co-star - Edinburgh’s first ever 3D Genie!
With the use of 3D glasses see the Genie of the lamp come to life and move miraculously around the auditorium! Rub the magic lamp as it appears right in front of your eyes, see a 3D cave of riches (where Aladdin finds his fortune) and take an amazing and thrilling 3D magic carpet ride to Abanazar’s lair!
King’s panto stalwart Allan Stewart returns to the theatre this year as Widow Twankey, while radio and television presenter Grant Stott plays the evil Abanazar. They are joined by comedian Johnny Mac playing Aladdin, entertainer Tom Urie and the gorgeous Jo Freer, with former Play School presenter Derek Griffiths providing the voice of the 3D Genie. Joining this stellar cast will be former Miss United Kingdom and Miss Scotland, Nieve Jennings, as the beautiful Princess Jasmine.
Staged by Qdos Pantomimes, the world’s largest pantomime producer, and written and directed by Paul Elliott, who has directed the last six years at the King’s, Aladdin will feature an abundance of comedy, flamboyant costumes and stunning sets - a magical combination for a trip to the theatre this Christmas! With sales already well ahead of last year’s King’s Theatre pantomime, Aladdin is proving to be a real hit with audiences as tickets are flying out of the box office door!
