Frequently Asked Questions:

Do you offer work experience?

No. Unfortunately we cannot offer work experience placements at either of our theatres because of a lack of resources and staff time. We do, however, aim to assist schools wherever possible. Recently we assisted Boroughmuir’s S3 Business Studies Class with their Enterprise project and have visited Bonaly Primary School to talk about The World of Work. We also led a series of workshops for a team of young marketers working on the Shine project, a collaboration with the Lyceum and Traverse Theatres. If you are interested in working with us, contact Clare Booth at education@eft.co.uk

We’re coming quite far to see the show - is there anywhere for my class to eat lunch?

There are several rooms at the Festival Theatre, and a room at the King’s Theatre that may be used for this purpose – please call Caroline Brophy, Theatre Manager on 0131 662 1112 for more information.

Why don't you run regular schools workshops?

The Festival and King’s Theatres are presenting theatres, which means that we are often governed by the companies that visit us. If they are able to offer workshops, talks or resource packs we will pass this information on to teachers via the education newsletter and post information on the education pages of our website. We are also working with local freelance workshop directors to create and deliver more education opportunities throughout the year – watch this space!

We have a number of Workshops, Talks and Other Events. If you have any questions you would like to ask, or would like to contact our Education department, email our Education Department
